Once a Jedi or Republic soldier, he was forever changed during the catastrophic Battle of Malachor V, where the Mass Shadow Generator unleashed unprecedented devastation. The trauma of survival twisted him, creating a dependence on consuming the Force itself to sustain existence.

The Sith Triumvirate

Rescued and trained by Darth Traya at the Trayus Academy, Nihilus became a member of the Sith Triumvirate alongside Darth Sion and Darth Traya. Unlike other Sith, his focus was not conquest or philosophy, but the relentless consumption of life energy. Entire planets fell to his hunger, leaving only desolation behind.

The Massacre of Katarr

Nihilus’ hunger reached catastrophic proportions at Katarr, home of the Miraluka. With a wave of dark-side power, he drained all life, leaving the planet barren. Only Visas Marr survived, bound by the Force to his will and later becoming the key to his downfall.

The Ravager and Sith Fleet

His power extended beyond his own body. Nihilus commanded the Ravager, a monstrous fleet of dark-side vessels held together by his will. Slaves, undead warriors, and Sith loyalists served him, their lives bound to his insatiable hunger. The Ravager became a moving symbol of dread across the galaxy.

The Fall of the Lord of Hunger

Ultimately, Nihilus’ hunger became his weakness. Facing the Jedi Exile and Visas Marr at Telos IV, he found his power useless against those who had cut themselves from the Force. Consumed by his own endless appetite, his armor shattered, the Ravager destroyed, and his spirit dissolved into nothingness, leaving only his mask as a relic of terror.
